DPR proudly participated in the official launch of the “SME Nexus” National SME Strategy Framework 2026, held on 13th May 2026 under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development.
The national initiative was launched with the objective of strengthening Sri Lanka’s Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector through innovation, digital transformation, improved institutional support, and sustainable business growth strategies. The event brought together government representatives, industry leaders, financial institutions, business advisors, development organizations, and stakeholders connected to the SME ecosystem.
The framework focuses on several strategic areas including technological empowerment, entrepreneurship development, market expansion, financial accessibility, startup incubation, and policy reforms aimed at creating a more supportive environment for Sri Lankan businesses.
As SMEs continue to play a vital role in the country’s economy, contributing significantly to employment generation and economic development, initiatives such as SME Nexus represent an important step toward building a stronger and more connected entrepreneurial ecosystem.
