DPR participated in the unveiling ceremony of Sri Lanka’s first Renminbi (RMB) Clearing Bank, hosted by the Bank of China Colombo Branch on 15 October 2026 at the Lotus Ballroom, Level 1, Shangri-La Colombo.
The event brought together representatives from the Sri Lankan government, financial institutions, and business communities of Sri Lanka and China. Key participants included Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wei Huaxiang, Bank of China President Zhang Hui, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka K. G. P. Sirikumara.
The ceremony provided an opportunity for stakeholders from both countries to come together for this significant occasion in Sri Lanka–China financial cooperation. DPR’s participation reflects its engagement with events that bring together key representatives from the business and financial sectors.
